Looks like he's wearing a Yamika (sp?), must be getting ready for Rasha Shana (sp??).  Wonder if this will affect his ability to play on Saturdays?  :ohno:

Harvill is a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way from a four star.  there are approximately 25 players standing between him and the crabby bump.

The character of "Bear Jew" was originally offered to Adam Sandler.

Harvill is rated as the #51 DT in the nation and has offers from Cincinnati and UNLV.  Strangely, there are no 5* DTs so far this year.  (Phillips is #12)

Salmen's Joran Adams scores against Slidell in the second quarter Friday night. The Spartans scored early and often against the Tigers. - (Scott Threlkeld/The Times-Picayune)
Salmen has a quarterback problem.
Check that.

Anyone playing Salmen has a problem with top-ranked Spartans' quarterbacks, not to mention the rest of their teammates.

Slidell found out that unhappy fact Friday night as Matt Lipham and Daniel Sams engineered touchdown drives on their team's first seven possessions as Salmen (2-0) routed the Tigers 49-6 at McGinty Stadium.

"It doesn't matter who our quarterback is, " Salmen senior wide receiver Jamal Robinson said. "They both can throw; they both can run. I know they're always going to put the ball where I'm at."

Robinson should know. He was the prime beneficiary of Lipham and Sams' passing, pulling down seven receptions for 107 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass from Lipham in the second quarter.

That score came after Salmen's only miscue of the first three quarters - Darion Causey's interception of Lipham at Slidell's 5-yard line.

But Causey fumbled when he was tackled, and the ball was recovered by Sams at the 9.

The Lipham to Robinson connection came three plays later.

"That's how good they are, " Slidell Coach Artie Liuzza said. "If you don't take advantage of every opportunity, they're going make you pay."

The interception/fumble was the way things went for Slidell (1-1).

Following Robinson' touchdown catch, which made the score 21-0, the Tigers consumed almost eight minutes, driving to Salmen's 18 where they faced third-and-nine.

But two false starts and a delay of game pushed the ball to the 34, and when the Tigers finally did get off a play, Claude Schick intercepted the Tigers' Bradley Myers.

Slidell did finally manage to avoid the shutout on Jonathan Miles' 13-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds remaining.

But by then the questions had long been settled, just as it was last week when the Spartans crushed Northshore 50-7,

"This is the way we want to beat people, " Sams said. "Every time it's close, it seems like it we get heartbroken."

That would include last year when the Spartans' only two regular season losses were to John Curtis (24-23) and Franklinton (20-14 in overtime).

They get a chance to avenge that loss to Curtis next week with Franklinton awaiting in the next-to-last regular-season game.

"Maybe Northshore and Slidell are supposed to be like this, " Sams said. "Against Curtis, it's our measuring stick. Franklinton's too far away for us to worry about right now."

Salmen was prepared in every aspect Friday night.

"We're confident in all phases of the game, and our kids have confidence in themselves, " Salmen Coach Jerry Leonard said, "That's the senior-laden group that we have. They've been in these big games before, and they understand what it's all about. They're even more mature now than I expected them to be, and hopefully they will handle this in a way that keeps them hungry."

Leonard used Sams and Lipham in just about every way Friday night - quarterback, receiver, safety and kick returner, and when Salmen finally had to punt in the fourth quarter, Sams did that.

For the night, Sams completed all seven of his pass attempts for 102 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown to Joron Adams. He rushed five times for 34 yards, capping off his performance with a 15-yard sprint early in the fourth quarter.

Lipham completed nine of 14 passes for 81 yards. He also caught one pass for 11 yards, and he had a 21-yard touchdown run.

They had plenty of help for a defense led by T.J. Price and Shaun Jackson and an offensive line headed by Ben Ryan and Zephania Rudolph.

"The heart of this football team is not to back down, not to let anybody beat us in anything, " Lipham said. "We play together as a family and never let our brothers down."
