I knew it was only a matter of time before wacky big timed PCPat about broadcasting his games, and therefore effectively closing this case.

I saw several of Bubba's games, though I did NOT broadcast them.  He is a poor passer, was actually not a standout baseball player considering the level of competition.  He is big and strong and fast.  Which means you will thrash soph and juniors from Shawnee Heights.  The fact he didn't put up insane numbers in baseball hitting with an aluminum bat against pitchers who were sometimes 15 years old is pretty telling to me.

If I am wrong I will happily admit it but I think he is blake bell

I remember the state game of GE vs Hutch. His panic button to run would go off pretty early against meager blitzing. Do not want for QB, maybe a WR convert.
Back for more bad takes.

FWIW, Shawnee Heights had one of the best RBs in the state this year. I have no idea why he isn't getting some recruiting attention.

Did the G-E coaching change take place before his senior year or after?

They always were so smug with their half days off with bus trips to Salina while we got to bus to Emporia and smell cow crap for three hours at an outdoor meet.

Jerks.

OMG do not get me started on Emporia.  Jesus, they should have been booted from the league years ago.   Expansion saved them.  They are the Iowa State of the Centennial League.  Manhattan is the Texas.

IIRC, Diener came to G-E before he was a Soph.

Official Centennial League comparisons to Big 12 schools:

Hayden:  Baylor.  Smaller schools, achieves at a high level, but we ALL hate them.  Hayden is an original member, so this isn't a perfect comparo, but still accurate.

Manhattan:  Texas.  Comes to the league late, thinks they own the joint.  Frequently they do.

Topeka High:  Oklahoma.  Steeped in tradition, most of it in the past.  An original member.

Junction City:  West Virgina.  Freaking identical in almost every way.

Shawnee Heights:  KU.  Basically located in greater Lawrence.  90% of their grads go to KU.

Seaman: K-State.  Only one decent football coach in the last forever.  Traditionally Ag-ish, but with a quickly increasing student body, that is also increasingly progressive.  The old timers don't get the change.

Emporia:  Iowa State.  Original member, loathed or ignored by all other members.  No one likes to go there for games.  Smells like poop.

Washburn Rural: TCU.  Uppity.  Rural is an original member, so again, this doesn't fit perfectly.  But, historically known for football and polo shirts, like TCU.

Topeka West:  Oklahoma State.  Sworn enemy of Topeka High, and inferior in every single way to Topeka High.  Topeka ignores that West even exists, not unlike OU and OSU.

Highland Park: Texas Tech.  Odd ducks among the other schools, just like Tech, but for very different reasons.  Also, they suck a bunch at stuff, just like Tech.

Comparing Texas Tech to Highland Park is being very kind to Texas Tech.

I can't remember his name, shortish guy from late nineties and early two thousands....heck, he might still be there.  There was Diamond Dale Sample there in the 80's, but that wasn't much.

That was a toughy.  More about being "not like the others," and underachieving.
