Really want Westbrook.  Would feel a lot better about our WR situation next yr if we did.
I wonder who is higher on our list Westbrook or Davis?

Both those dudes would be our highest recruits in a long time. This class is shaping up to be the best yet if we land a few more key pieces.
We need DEs and WRs.
Willis and Lee are two pretty damn good DE and young too...

Lee's only a "DE" to blitz in obvious passing situations. We need one or two more every-down DE. The lack of depth there is concerning.

This. As I've said before, we need juco DE's badly.

Also, whatever happened to Tanner Wood?
Wood is playing on special teams, and with the twos.  He's just a rsfr could make an impact in the next year or so, would feel better with a judo de.

We need his speed. DE, SS and the mike need speed.

I think we over award scholarships to walk-on players, we have had to many misses in the 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes and obviously needed a couple to fix the holes in our roster.

I think back in 2012 when we lost Micheal Smith and Joe Bob was a blessing. The recruiting has definitely improved I am more excited about our young guys than the upper class-men.

Doesn't solve next year but that would be something.

Barry just committed.  Hopefully he's fast and can beat a slow walk on

Not going to happen, if he isn't dedicated enough to be a walk on then he isn't going to start for us.

Wallace is saying they will use Barry as a db...
"Look for Barry to play a hybrid role in Tom Hayes' defense. Think a combination between what we've seen from Randall Evans and Travis Green."
He is doomed.

per ESPN scout..

Quote
Overall Traits

Size-Strength-Range
Barry is a very active, physical outside linebacker with the size, strength and range/playing speed for position at the Power Conference level of play. His frame appears capable of supporting additional bulk over time. Displays outstanding balance and agility along with an explosive burst to the football.

Instincts/Take On Skills
We see outstanding instincts. Shows quick key and diagnosis reaction skills. His strength appears to be the ability to play close to the line of scrimmage, walk up and time the run/pass blitz; is very quick getting off the mark and working through tight space traffic to the football. Shows the upper body strength and explosion needed to take and defeat blockers at the point of attack. Does an outstanding job keeping his feet free of trash and working laterally to the sideline.

Tackling
This guy is a tough customer; is a leverage tackler who brings his arms and lower torso through to generate finishing power; does a very good job of punishing ball carriers and not allowing cheap yards after contact.

3rd Down Capabilities
Is an outstanding inside/outside pass rusher who gets a great jump with his ability to time snaps; shows a closing burst to the quarterback; a repertoire of moves must be developed. Will need to gain experience as a coverage defender however his athleticism and playing speed should be assets.

Bottom Line
Barry is a very productive run stopper and pass rusher. His toughness, athleticism and tackling ability should allow him to do a variety of jobs effectively on special teams. Also is productive as an over the pads running back who shows the toughness needed to work effectively between the tackles; displays move the pile playing strength with a nose for the end zone. Developing coverage skills will require time and most likely a red shirt year.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

How the hell does that translate to DB? He is bigger, faster, and better than Shellenburg right now so I guess he could play safety.

Coaches are expecting to get Ryan Davis on an official.

I should note that he's expected to be a WR in college.

Beating out Florida State would be impressive.
