i apparently don't know how scholly counts work...but i thought were were like 10 under the limit??

No, we're in the low 80's now.  If Snyder has given scholarships to walk ons like Rose, Truman, etc., then it's not outside the realm of possibility that we're back to 85.

it would seem a safe bet that we will lose at least one signee that fails to qualify/show up, right?  Maybe redirect a DITR to JC?

Yeah, Anyone in the KC area has heard about this kid for quite sometime. He's pratcially the same size now as he was as a freshman, in high school.

Per ESPN, we've made Devante Kincade's final 6 (ND, Nub, Ole Miss, Miss St. & Oregon St.) and he's thinking about announcing at the Elite 11 event in July.

We'll be in it until the end.

I feel good about him.

Being the only Big 12 school in the running has to help us out here, right?

One would think.  The list of schools shows that he's cognizant of the offenses being run at these schools and how his talents would fit there.

I think the Michael Smith connection will help, too.

SIAP - Kincade was the MVP of the Dallas Elite 11.  There's a little video of him here.

Tremendous footwork.  It's my favorite thing about him.  Very advanced for a prep.

 :surprised:

Rumor has it that they did it without even an open scholarship. Towlie had a big part in it.

JEFF LUC
The papers haven't been signed and the envelope isn't quite sealed, but according to a source Friday morning, Jeff Luc is all but delivered to Kansas State.

"I don't know how they did it, but they sold him without a scholarship in place," said a source close to Luc. "He could be up there by next Thursday."

The initial plan was for the 252-pound, former Florida State linebacker to spend Wednesday and Thursday in Manhattan before taking a final trip to Cincinnati in the near future. Instead, after spending time with the likes of Coach LHC Bill Snyder, new linebacker coach Mike Cox, recruiting coordinator Joe Gordon, and athletics director John Currie among others, it appears there may be no need for Luc to investigate other possibilities.

It appears Jeff Luc is set to become Arthur Brown's replacement at K-State
Off the cuff, the idea of selling a potential transfer on a program and university without a scholarship in hand seems ludicrous. However, LHC Bill Snyder has worked this magic before, most recently in luring former wide receiver Brodrick Smith back to the Sunflower State under similar conditions when Smith transferred from Minnesota.

"Jeff really hit it off with Joe Gordon and after talking with LHC Bill Snyder, he feels he's the type of person and coach you can trust," added the source.

Another helpful piece in potentially adding Luc to the mix was current senior and former transfer himself, Chris Harper.

One of the only players who happened to be in town, the two spent time with each other during the visit and throughout conversations, the Port St. Lucie native found excitement in stories told by the KSU receiver.

"Harper told him about how hard they work and if you can make it at K-State, you can make it anywhere."

"I know Jeff also liked what he heard from Harper in regards to the NFL. I guess in discussions Harper has had with former KSU players who have gone to the next level, they all say that LHC Bill Snyder's practices prepare you for what's ahead."

By all accounts, it was a memorable two days for 2010's No. 1 inside linebacker prospect by Rivals out of high school. In fact, the 48 hours marked one of the first times Luc had ever seen cattle.

More importantly, the positives outweighed any negatives, and given a few "minor details" get worked out in the coming days, the source believes Luc will be made purple.

"The atmosphere there, the ability to step in and play right away once he sits out, and the fact that it's a much bigger football stage than say the Big East, I guess Kansas State really sold itself ... with or without a scholarship right now."
