There is a reason a DT that talented is still on the board.  If he were really close, some of the other big names probably would have pounced.

He needs test scores per the article I linked, but we don't know what his core grades are to know if he needs a 17 on the ACT, or something higher to make up for the core.

My guess is that the kid ends up at Blinn, Hutch, or Butler.  Money on Hutch since they seem to protect our kids better.

Well...let's hope so.  Seems like these past couple of years have been a rough ridin' open season on KSU placements.  :bang:

Possibly but he's either 5'11 or 6' and he isn't THAT quick.  I watched highlight clips of his senior year.  He's a solid two gap player but to hold the hole.  He's not going to give you much in the way of penetrating and chasing plays in the backfield or generating a pass rush.  He's a little fire plug who is short and has one very good characteristic about him and that being the two gap run defender.  That is part of it...add that he might not qualify and there is the other part.  Remember the recruit a few years back under Prince, Xavier Stewart, he made qualified but nobody took a chance on him because he was both a risk and had some shortcomings in his game.  We'll take players like that because they do serve a purpose but I wouldn't rule out that he may qualify.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

????

was that directed at hood or pennel?  Hood is an okay prospect.  not everybody can get the nose tackle types an LSU or Texas can.  I like Hood it's just that he's limited to being the two gap, run defending nose IMO.  We're in good shape right now at 3 tech and both End positions.

I want Porter and Hayes.

Uh, no chance.  I was in Arky yesterday and news is Michael Dyer is transferring to Arky State to join his former OC.  Yeah that michael Dyer, the BCS National Championship game mvp.  Not sure where Gus is getting the money to pay these guys.

Was not aware of this, but Clement was a 1st Team NJCAA All-American with Marquez Clark.

I like his highlights.  He moves well in space.

so much wrong in that video.  he plays straight legged...he won't see the field if that continues.  He does move well on the second level and when he wants to move.  I'd like to see him bend the knees, drop the butt and slide in pass protection but there really isn't much of that with the exception of a few plays that looked like they were shot from a satellite.  Color me impressed with the raw abilities and NOT impressed by the technique.  He's got a lot of refining to do.  Also, would like to see him use his hands more in space rather than laying a shoulder into someone with a big hit and stopping.  That won't fly up at this level.

Not too worried about a juco dude being raw as long as he has natural talent.  Either he'll get it figured out during the off season workouts or he'll redshirt and figure it out on the scout team.  Also-  is he a December grad and/or a 3/2 guy?

we don't know because GPC dudes never ask our jucos if they have a redshirt available.  Rooks does not have a redshirt available.  Clement's senior year in high school was '08-'09 so he could be a redshirt but it's possible he didn't go into college right away.  No, he's not a mid-year.

Yeah, I usually just check when their senior year was and assume from there.  Sucks that he won't be here early or have a RS available, if he is as raw as you believe.  Still, if he was 1st team AA he must be pretty talented so maybe he'll be able to get crap together and contribute this year.

Dude decommitted from Pigaggy late, we got a visit, and he should have been "in the bag?"  I'm not saying that I'm not disappointed in not landing him but I'm not pissed either. Losing Bender would piss me off, not landing Pennel is really not much of a surprise.  I guess I'm just tucking the crap out it lately but I feel like Snyds was able to recruit well enough for us to reach a Cotton Bowl, with even bigger possibilities next year.  Maybe you outta tuck a bit yourself, 10-3 feels pretty good:cool:
11-2 is killing you isn't it.  Meanwhile we are poised to inheret an embarrasment of riches with another top class....featuring possibly the # 1 rated recruit in the nation....
