again.  Also name a dynamic young recruiting special teams coach.  Name any special teams coach.

Additionally Sean was a big part of the reason we got Burton and was active and seemingly effective with building relationships through the summer camp 7 on 7 circuit.

Lots of teams don't even have exclusive special teams coaches. Here is an example of the type of resume that would be immeasurably better than Sean's:

But props to Sean for getting the townie.

fair enough on the townie thing.

however if we would have had the same production from a coach not named Sean Snyder it would be considered a good to adequate hire.

not this.

Hiring Sean is the most egregious thing Snyder has ever done, and it's not even close.  There's no excuse for it, and everyone should be mad about it.  Snyder probably didn't care if it was a good idea or not.

Man, who else gets super rough ridin' depressed when they see coaches from the Snyder tree doing crap the right way?  :frown:

I know I do.

Rex Ryan being D-Coordinator for only 1 day was far more discouraging to me.

Kent Gainous could be a heck of a steal for the Wildcats. High school QB originally from Florida with plenty of speed to burn.

Needed a juco safety.  Probably the most important "get" for next season's on the field product.

A little late getting around to it but...

Cody Small (TE commit) and his mom hung out at our tailgate at the Cotton Bowl for a while. Nothing but good things to say about the guy. Oozes with confidence but level headed confidence not arrogance excited to see what hes gonna do on the field in a couple years.

also, noted that the coaches used the Ville as a selling point (he thought it was ironic that a coach would talk up a bar district)... maybe old balls and his staff are in tune with what "young people" are interested in.   :drink:

insider anyone?

Trinity Valley Community College (Athens, Texas) has a monster 2012 recruiting class. Seventeen Cardinals found FBS and FCS homes during the mid-year signing period.

Quarterback-turned-defensive back Kent Gainous will add to TVCC’s list of signees in February. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety has verbally committed to play at Kansas State.

Gainous chose the Wildcats over an offer from Arizona State. He spoke with Kansas State defensive backs coach Tom Hayes and receivers coach Michael Smith last month, and they gave him the green light that a scholarship would be available for him.

“I like the way they carried themselves,” Gainous said. “They presented themselves well and said if I stayed committed to them, they would stay committed to me. I feel like [Kansas State] is a family-oriented place, and it would be a good place to go. I feel like it’s the place for me.”

Gainous, who came to TVCC as a quarterback out of high school, was converted to safety because of his 4.4-second speed in the 40-yard dash and athleticism. As a high school senior, he tallied more than 1,700 total yards and 15 touchdowns calling plays at Edgewater (Orlando, Fla.). He is expected to take his official visit to Kansas State the weekend of Jan. 27.

Who knows.  Beloit has many vices.

Maybe they should have Squeaks Wallace text him.  That would probably work.

I really like this Cody Small kid that is committed for TE.  I think he'll wind up as a defensive end.  Played his senior season at 6'5 245.  Versatile in that he is comfortable as a LE or RE.  Me thinks he gets up in that 270 range and plays a lot like Andrew Shull.  He's not spectacular but he's got a motor and runs well.  I think he's a really good commit for us.  Find some of his senior video at the link below.  He's been working with a speed and strength coach...ran a laser timed 4.71 last summer.  He was supposed to play TE for Cy Woods this year but I think they needed him to be DE.  He had 6 sacks as a junior...probably had more as a senior.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.
