Betts' whole team appears to be pretty awful.  They're 0-3.  I guess he accounted for all of their scores last night.

Dewayne Betts was 3/5 for 88 yards and a passing TD this past week.  One rush for 26 yards, and he scored a TD on that.  Not a lot of action in general for KIPP this week.  They won 46-0 over some scrub team.

For those interested in whatever highlights Wheeler had at Mill Valley, here they are.

this guy isn't exactly generating a ton of offense

Quote
St. James Academy earned its first win as a member of the Eastern Kansas League Friday night, as the Thunder topped Blue Valley Southwest, 12-7, at Blue Valley High School.

The Thunder took a 10-7 lead shortly before the break when senior quarterback Sammy Wheeler hit senior tight end Travis Pickert with a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Pickert helped lead the St. James defense shut out the Timberwolves in the second half to salvage the victory.

I don't think St. James is very good.

Let's be honest..he's being recruited because he's 6'4"/200 and runs a 4.6 40. He throws a decent ball.  He's a project.

Betts is the same way. We can take projects if Thompson is as good as advertised because these guys will be sitting the bench for a while.

any HS QB worthy of a D1-ish offer should be absolutely tearing crap up. I've been following KSU recruiting for all of the Prince and Snyder 2.0 years. Never have we had QB commits that performed as poorly as wheeler and betts have performed so far. Even Ertz and Klein, who were both lightly regarded as D1 prospects, broke like every QB record at their HS.

I've followed this longer than you, and if they aren't any good, we will move them.

I mean, really, what other conceivable position could a 6'4", 200 pound kid that runs a 4.6 40 play?  Especially one that high jumps?

I mean I'm drawing a blank. I can't think of anything.

what HS QB recruit has ever switched positions at KSU and then not transferred out? It hasn't happened once in the last decade.

DT and Harper were Juco but that's not a bad list otherwise

Harper was a transfer from Oregon where he played both QB and WR and DT played QB at his JUCO, but I get what you're saying.

No. Neither Hartman nor Jordy were recruited as QBs. And Harper was already a WR before he transferred.
