yeah - it was a long time ago. I wish people still gave us crap about recruiting stud JUCOs

I'm sure our next staff will do a much better job with these kids. We barely try with them anymore.

Our success rate has been pretty poor. Derricott, Riddle, Clinkscales, etc. Is McDaniel even going to graduate?

I think our lack of success has scared us away a little bit, but we seem pretty intent on bringing a lot of JUCO OL in this year, so we obviously aren't going to abandon it altogether.

Our lack of success recruiting JuCos is as much to do with competition than anything else. 20 years ago, blue chips didn't recruit JUCOs. 20 years ago, Nick Marshall plays for KSU instead of Auburn. our staff lacks the energy to compete with SEC schools for JC studs. easier to lock down the DIR guys nobody else is recruiting.

Not saying you're wrong, because our coaches absolutely lack the energy to compete with SEC recruiters, but let's not forget many of these JUCO studs are originally from the same places the HS studs are from. Just because they spent a couple years at a KS juco (and recruiting services decide to list them as Kansas prospects) doesn't mean they're suddenly locals. A Georgia kid who goes to HCC is still going to want to play in the SEC if he has that option.

Don't seem to be missing much. Derricot has 29 tackles for the year and one sack. Most of those tackles were at the start of the year.
