Oh def.  However, those stats and size are something to at least look into.  I mean, you could probably even get that kid to walk on.

Crystal Ball for Kylan Johnson to the 'Cats, with 247 having KSU as the favorite.  This could be a KITN if we lose out on him, but I'm ok with whipping it out, and hoping for the best

OVERALL TRAITS
Size-Strength-Speed   
Johnson is gifted with ideal size for a safety. He is of very good height and has a frame that should only get thicker as he gets involved with a consistent weight program. Plays with average strength as he does not over power blockers but does get to the ball. His speed is also average as he depends more on angles and patience than he does raw speed.

Instincts/Recognition   
Is a calculating type of player. Takes a second look at the play so he does not react too quickly and get burnt. Is very effective at taking the correct angle to the ball but makes most of his plays on the defensive side of the ball rather than in the backfield.

Coverage Skills   
Displays a solid knack of playing zone as he sits back and reads the QB's eyes well. Is able to react to what he sees and make a play on the ball and even intercept some at their high point. Others he will close on the receiver and be there to disrupt the catch.

Run Support   
Is a cautious run support player. Makes plays and even some at the LOS but mostly he will cut off angles and be there when the play is funneled to him. He is a tackler but is not ready to be a violent tackler. Has the potential to be a very good run support player but needs to gain some more experience and thus confidence.

Bottom Line   
Johnson has all the tools to excite the power conference schools but needs to gain some confidence in his own abilities so he can play faster. As he matures both physically and mentally he should develop into a very good player.
