getting a juco QB isn't so cut-and-dry. in past two classes, only 4 QBs have been in the juco top 100. two of those guys were marshall and waters. you haven't heard of the other two guys and they have just two power 6 offers between them. losing sharp really does mess up our depth if we can't find a replacement in this class. after this season, we'll have sams (who might not be a QB anymore) ertz and hubener on the roster. yikes.

Maybe we should go ahead and give the scholly to Colby Moore for QB if we don't flip the Rice commit. :dunno:

I don't see it.  Kid can make some slow KS kids miss and can fit some balls in around HORRIBLE dbacks.  Good athlete. Will take.  NOT the QB of the future here at KSU.  <-- Mark the tape.

i disagree. hasn't even sniffed his senior year yet, and has a chance to make some noise at camps this summer. i really like the way he throws the ball.

Isn't every athlete looked at like a commodity
granted manhatter was talking out of his ass and acting like a tool, thats what should be complained about.

yeah.  pretty weird talking point.  these guys are absolutely commodities.  it is what it is.  good, bad, indifferent.  look at pro sports.  any good GM focuses purely on the numbers.  athletes are pieces in a puzzle.  Numbers/production declines, they're cut, released, traded, etc.  Expendable.  Don't really distinguish between college and pro b/c for all intents and purposes, these guys are pro athletes in all respects.  we don't know them, aren't friends with them.  we pay money to watch them play sports - hopefully at a high level.  our fan base pays millions of dollars in benefits for these players and, eventually, this will include salaries, IMO.

But, yeah, grown ass men like hatter talking crap on an 18 year old on twitter is pretty mumped up.

Actually LHCBS goes pretty far out of his way to make them feel like they aren't commodities, it's one of our best sales pitches especially to parents of recruits... that being said, at 95% of other big time programs yes they are looked at as commodities and discussed as such by fans, usually in about a 10 times more offensive manner than what 'hatter posted.

Elijah isn't leaving us for anyone including Nub or Mizzou

My wife works with Elijah's mom and this is a instant message conversation between them from just a bit ago

12:03 AM - Wifey
so i am supposed to ask you.....Elijah isnt looking at the color red....is he?
12:04 AM - Momma
ummmmmmmmmmmmmm I squashed that
So Bo Pelini came down and paid him a visit at school a couple a days ago.
12:04 AM - Wifey
lol
12:05 AM - Momma
That's Nebraska's head Coach.. And whatever lies he was attempting to sell i had to remind Elijah that's exactly what they are and i do not support that decision ... and there will be no more conversation with Nebraska.. they are pretty slick tho
12:06 AM - Wifey
wow
12:06 AM - Momma
Yeah have to remember it's like a few weeks until signing day and Nebraska lost a DE commit and then another guy decommited from them and came to Kstate..
So of course go for one of KState top recruits. and they are hoping to get these other 2 juniors next year figured if they get Elijah they know those 2 would come.. however we as parents wouldn't let that happen lol

A+++ ... give this guy some  :katpak:!!

Well, sure, coaches and ADs make them feel like they aren't commodities.  They develop friendships with these guys, no doubt.  But, ultimately, it's about winning.

He may tell Sams that he's the QB, but then Waters came along.  They recruited Sharp and then told him they'd pull his scholly if he visited elsewhere.

It's the same in all sports.

HAHAHAHA, Bo Pelini.  What an incredible dumbass!

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Is that a guy I should be excited about (if he switched to us)? If so, is it because he's good or because we need some QB, any QB, in this class? TIA
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Right, but let's say there never was a Sharp that committed to us. Would we be excited about  this guy then? Or do we just want him for depth and hope that maybe he pans out.

How do you value an offer from Rutgers? (assuming prior to RP exodus)

The only person that comes to mind when I think hates Jake Waters is kim carnes.  There is no one that has commented in this thread recently that hates him.

Nuts Kicked

I don't hate him. I just don't think he is as good at football as you do.

yes, want. if you can, watch his highlights there on rivals and check out the play at 3:35 left in the video (video clock counts down, not up). looks very very fast. also threw a ball 50 yards at the 2:57 mark while rolling to the left.
