Those guys in Vegas are incredible.

 :bawl:

They missed the spread by 20 points

No, they didn't.  They set the spread low enough so that people like me would jump on it, thinking that KU would win by more than five.  They set the spread based on how people bet.

The spread was 6.5 points at noon today and was 7 points like an hour before tip.  It may have only been five initially, but it grew very quickly.

they set the spread hoping that half the money will be on one side, half the money will be on the other, then they run with the commission

Complete dumbasses seem to think it's feasible for books to make money by drawing bets to one side.  What makes them complete dumbasses is that they don't realize all of the complete dumbass bets don't amount to crap for the books when they have $500k bets coming in from people who know what the eff they are doing.  But, this theory on line setting never, ever goes away.  Why?  Most people are complete dumbasses.

Lots of butt hurt.

The "ring leader" with the "bookie" that set the whole thing up lost $1,400 of his own $$ and is fuming pissed today.  He thinks Self's decision to stop fouling with 2 minutes left and putting the millionaire walk-ons in screwed him.

One poor girl put $500 on it just assuming it was free money and is in tears and furious.

I haven't said much.  "Sure looked like a sure thing didn't it?" is about the nastiest thing I have said.

It's very quiet around here.  There are a couple other EMAWs in here doing some razzing.  I'll just enjoy the moment.

I hope everything in your post is true. You might just want to throw a "Anybody retiring early still?" comment in there.
