Malone hates us for agent fiasco which wasn't. our fault anyway. Anything else Malone says is just filler.

Dealt with Joel Bell on a professional basis when I lived in Boston.  Biggest bad person I have ever associated with.  He's one of those guys who flaunts his "money and power" around while having no idea how small timey he is.  I worked with him the summer Mike fired his ass.  He went around talking big crap about having "a top three draft pick."  It was amazing how humbled he was after he was fired

Did he "sponsor" malone's team, or something like that, and was therefore to get first pick of the kids?  Never did hear the depth on this one.

Or we should at least re-enact it at a pak.  I'll be Beas, Gooch can be Bell, and MIR can PI the crap out of Gooch/Bell when I/Beas fire his ass.

I still don't get how the agent stuff relates to KSU/Frank. Can someone explain? pm if necessary.

He and Malone are tight.  His son plays on DC Assault, Bell is an bad person helicopter parent who provides money, son gets to play with good players.  DC Assault gets to have an agent involved in their program to show off to players they are recruiting into the program, although I will point out that Bell isn't flaunted out there like a show dog, but everyone knows who he is.

They feel like Delonte and Shingler didn't do enough to influence mike to stay with Bell.  Bell didn't do crap for Mike.  Other players below Mike in the draft were getting shoe deals and endorsements, Bell didn't get crap for Mike, he was too busy throwing parties letting everyone know he was Mikes agent.  He doesn't have enough respect in the business to do real work for elite players as Mike was thought of at the time.  His client list is crap.

rake is a dorky chiefs fan. he should stop the sniping.

You nailed it. Solid post as usual.

rake has been killing us on twitter.

He was excited about this piece having some balls to it but I'm assuming he must not have seen it prior to making those prognostications.

Have no idea what this means. I never mentioned a newspaper article and knew nothing of it. The "meltdown" I was referring to was Wally related. Saw him tonight in Aggieville. He seemed fine.  :blank:

Didn't notice this before, but that article's first source used to show discontent with Frank from the community/student body was a cook at Kite's (Kellis' favorite burger joint).  I'd take it more seriously if they'd gotten a So Long or R-A-B cook.

So Mike was using DC Assault's shitty agent Bell. Mike got wise, dumped his ass. Malone blames Hill and KSU for not pimping Bell enough and he quit sending people Frank's way. Now they claim Anderson/Sutton/Judge leaving as the reason? Interesting.

That's a pretty good summary. Never mind the fact that the DCA pipeline shut down before even Ron left. Judge and Sutton leaving have nothing to do with it.

Right now, we’re not panicking,” says Cassundra Gipson, whose son Thomas is one of K-State’s two early signees in college basketball’s recruiting season. “We’re not trying to jump ship.

“I’ve already explained to Thomas: He’s going to push you — push you mentally and push you physically. It’s going to be hard, but if you want to get better, there are going to be times where you have to bite your tongue.

“I don’t think you can blame Frank for some of the things that have happened. You can’t blame him for everything that goes wrong. I trust him. I do. We’re buying everything purple now. We can’t go back.”

translation...if my boy Thomas could decommit we'd probably do it.

The comments on this piece are a treat. Some of the "hits":

"The World War II generation no longer exists in this country. Too bad that we have forgotten that hard work and selfless teamwork leads to success. The same people who say they would not let their kids go to play for Frank Martin are the same people who say they would not let their children join the military."

"Wake up America! Without hard work and sacrifice, we will all lose the way of life that we have gained on the backs and lives of those who came before us."

"Being tough in practice and taking the players aside is one thing; but all this B.S. that Frank seems to enjoy in front of a national audience on T.V. is low class and not impressive at all."

"Frank is trying to help Pullen get drafted in the NBA by letting him handle the ball..."

"Frank Martin reminds me a lot of Mark Mangino."

"Kids these days can't handle discipline and someone yelling and pushing them. If something is too hard, they just give up and quit. If its hard they don't like to do it. Also another reason for childhood obesity."

Frank is approximately 1,000 times better than his predecessor at KSU and we need not forget that before a guy gets run out of town that we cannot replace. I have to think KSU fan with any perspective realizes this, maybe it is just that KSU fan without that perspective yells, screams, and posts to message boards or comments on articles more often.
