Unreal...
« on: February 12, 2011, 10:37:11 PM »
Cats needed to handle CU on the boards, especially offensively. OR% was 34.1% to 25% - advantage Cats.

Cats needed to get to the FT line, force CU to foul. FT rate was 59.6% to 51.2% - advantage Cats.

Cats needed handle the ball well on the road. TO% was 14.6% to 26% - advantage Cats.

Cats needed for force CU's good shooters into tough shots. CU's eFG% was 46.5% - would seem to be advantage Cats.

But K-State has an eFG% of 35.5%, shooting 6-20 from 3 (30%), and a terrible 10-32 on 2PTers.

K-State's best 2 FT shooters go 1-4 from the FT line (before Jake's last 2) down the stretch.

K-State's SR leader turns the ball over for a CU runout down 1.

K-State forces two loose balls up 1, and CU recovers under the basket and is fouled.

Just a terrible, terrible loss.

I honestly can't remember when I was this crushed after a basketball loss.  I mean, unless we find a way to beat Kansas on Monday AND find a way to beat Mizzou or Texas, we're NIT bound?

I'm obviously not talking about the Butler game last year, because that almost caused me to drive my car into a light pole, so that doesn't count.

there's a reason why, at the start of the year, everyone talked about whether kstate's great frontcourt+pullen could make up for their offensively challenged backcourt.

just because the frontcourt didn't turn out as predicted doesn't mean the backcourt can score.

it helps a lot that i thought they won for 30 seconds.  it's hard to really bitch and moan about a game that you were already ecstatic about.

Meh I don't think its going to happen but beating ISU OU NU and MU would put us at 8.  Pretty confident 8 gets us in the tourney.

Am I the only one who thought he didn't get it off in time when it happened live? No fist pumps, no anticipation, no nothing, except waiting for the inevitable wave-off of the basket.

Guess that frees me to melt down unabashedly.

I had the same reaction. My eyes just got really big and then I just started pre-emptively going through the grieving process

Then they waved off the basket.

Yeah you were and that proves you are a rough ridin' idiot.  I'm sure if CU was 11-11 from the line you would have posted that they were 100% and be completely blissfully ignorant to how rough ridin' dumb you look.

62 possessions, yeah, exactly where we needed it to be to win.  A lot of things went the way we wanted them tonight. Really.
