OK.  Well what about Dennis Rodman?  He needs the money, and he's won a lot more basketball games and is way more qualified than Doug Gottlieb.  He's also way more entertaining.  The only downside I see is that he's not Jewish.  Or maybe he is...not sure. He did date Madonna.

Thoughts?

don't be a dumbass here. start a new thread and then we can move it to the politics board. thanks.

You think Doug Gottlieb is a candidate and you're calling me the dumbass?  You probably think Stephen Colbert is going to be the next President of the United States.

Go ahead.  Admit it.  I love Stephen Colbert.  I'm with you.

like i already said, politics board dumbass.

I don't understand the crowd that would rather hire an experienced coach who has proven to be mediocre over an unconventional hire with the potential to be great. It just doesn't make sense.

the mods are super feisty today.  they're not just pi'ing, they're modding while pi'ing.

also, steve dave, did you talk to Dennis?

I never noticed ira hayes as a poster until he started being awful in this thread.  my god.   :flush:

I would be more awful if I could make a post without an alert popping up every time telling me somebody else has already replied and I may want to review what I want to post because the person that replied might possibly have said something that would change my mind but they never do so I go and read the new post just to make sure and then I click the post button again and then I get an alert that says somebody else has already replied and I may want to review what I want to post because the person that replied might possibly have said something that would change my mind but once again they didn't so I hit the post button again.

And as I typed that I get: Warning - while you were typing 6 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.

Warning - while you were typing 3 new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.

I'm not reviewing those 3 either...

I refuse to review your 6 posts before I spew my garbage onto your board.  Thank me for my time.

It's like most of our fans care more about what the phog might think of our hire than who could be successful here. Pisses me off.

The media attention this would get and the subsequent advertising for the University would pay for his entire contract before his second day on the job.

this is, unfortunately, an ongoing issue.  they also judge our stuff on how phog reacts to it.

CBB recruits do not want to play for a 70 year old.  Find me a successful 70 year old college basketball coach.

Yep, being plastered all over ESPN 24/7 is so much more important than having someone who has sat on the bench for a few years. Everyone knows x's and o's. You hire assistants for x's and o's. You get on ESPN and you get players.

Brown has been pretty good at making already pretty-good teams better than they were before then bolting a few years later.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

With his unlimited connections to the NBA, I don't think getting recruits would be a problem.

I would like all the townie media clowns trying to act all smart and rational about this to line up so I can punch you in the nuts.

Cassidy? Nut punch
Kitchen? Double nut punch
J Brady? Nut Punch
Tyler Dreiling (does he count?) Nut punch
Levi? Nut Punch

I'm sure there are others that can be punched in the nuts later.

Tyler Dreiling is a rough ridin' wannabe athlete self-proclaimed "expert". I went to high school with the guy, he's a total eff. take anything the guy says with a grain of salt- the guy only got to where he is because of his family's connections through GTM.

go cats, fear the beard, #Gottlieb4KSU
omg, same! agreed on all counts.
