thankfully the other fed presidents are on record of saying if he appoints a toady they'll just ignore them.

talk about royally rough ridin' the greatest country and economy that has ever existed. removing the independence of the Fed would do it.

also for non-Fed watchers, Jerome Powell is thought by many people to be the greatest Fed chair OAT. he has navigated unprecedented things and kept this economy humming incredibly well. and Trump appointed him! Trump should be doing a victory lap about that.

Why does Trump want interest rates lowered? What is his understanding of the benefit from doing so?

Why does Trump want interest rates lowered? What is his understanding of the benefit from doing so?

and more importantly, what is his understanding of the detriments?

I assume all he knows from his real estate business is "low interest rates = good" and low interest rates would be good specifically for his current real estate business

It's a stretch to assume he even has that low level of understanding.

I’m not a big market guy, but the reactionary nature of the stock market depending on what some people say will never not make me lol
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Finance twitter is almost exclusively republican leaning, as you’d expect. And they are all enraged about this crap.

Those are just fiscal republicans, though. Not real republicans. They number in the dozens.

There will always be elites in anything resembling a society. We have the most unimpressive elites in centuries
