Get used to Frank or break...

I don't care if he makes them work until they break.

I want him to build them up into something based on that break.  Right now, it's like he's tearing them down, and no one knows what they're supposed to be building towards.

If Russell leaves on a Sunday, Frank will have ran off a player on each of the seven days of the week. That's an impressive three-year stretch.

Judge ('11) left on a Monday. Herrera ('09) left on a Tuesday. Anderson ('09) left on a Wednesday. Awaji ('09) and Brown ('09) left on a Thursday. Sutton left on a Friday ('10). And Asprilla left on a Saturday ('11).

Interesting article. I really don't have a problem with Martin's toughness or demanding the best from his players. That's one of the things I love about him. The thing is, that at some point there's a line between pushing someone to be great, and pushing them over the edge. Seems like there's been a lot more of the latter this year.

Quote from: Nick Russell
"He pushes you," Russell said of Martin. "He pushes you to your limits. It's enough to where you get frustrated with yourself. There's times you might get frustrated with him, but for myself, I sit back and think that he's just trying to get the best out of me. I really can't stay frustrated at him for long. Most of the time I'm frustrated with myself for the things I've done, the situations I've put myself in."

Russell expected this tough-love approach when he committed to K-State, but it's difficult to grasp until you experience it firsthand, he said.

"Everybody has to get used to it, because it's different," he said. "It's very different. I can't find a coach in the world that's similar to Frank. Everyone that comes to K-State, there's some changing you have to do.

"You have to get accustomed to him. Over time, you either get used to it, or you break."

Others have broken, but Russell is still here, still surviving.

Ask if he's confident about his future, and Russell pauses again.

"I am," he said. "I'm confident in myself. I'm confident in the things I've learned thus far. I'm just going use that and try to learn every day from the things I do."

 :dunno: just sayin'
We are K-State and we love to hire SHlTTY coaches.

And now Manbeck weighs in: http://www.themercury.com/k-statesports/article.aspx?articleId=2383eeb177ae44819c45f387e04cd874

The Mercury seriously needs to consider upgrading its website.

It's the Mercury. They're holding bake sales just to keep that thing running.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

It was Curt's quote that got me. Seriously, we need to sop recruiting head cases that can't take Martin's approach. That is Martin's fault, but he has shown he can get a team to perform really well.

Most kids with strict parents are able to tolerate them — for a while.
But then you reach your breaking point and say, "F*** this, I'm outta here."

When Bill Self's players transfer he replaces them with five star kids.

Then he wins yet another Big 12 title the following season.

i like russell as a person.  i liked judge.  i really, really liked asprilla.  they all seem like better people than basketball players.
