Yeah it's very good

One analyst estimates the carrier pre-sold as many as 100,000 units in 17 hours

Source: Verizon Wireless
That didn't take long.

Verizon (VZ) announced Friday that it had halted pre-sales of Apple's (AAPL) iPhone, having burned through its first shipment in less than a day.

It took only two hours -- from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. EST Thursday -- for the company to sell more phones than any first-day launch in its history, according to Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead.

Within 17 hours it had run out of its "limited" supply -- which RBC Capital's Mike Abramsky estimates at something less than 100,000 units.

The stock out, Abramsky told clients, "affirms the strong pent-up demand for the Verizon iPhone, and bodes well for initial sell-through."

Based on first-day sales, Susquehanna's Jeff Fidicaro estimates that Verizon will sell 2.9 million iPhones before the end of March and a total of 11.6 million iPhones in 2011.

Some customers who pre-ordered iPhones have already been notified that their units have shipped. Retail sales of iPhones Verizon's outlets begin Feb. 10 at 7 a.m. local time. We expect to see some lines.

They're similar, but the android market seems to be a lot faster, cleaner, easier to use. The Appbrain app sucked.

I am really hating my HTC HD2.  Windows OS is rough ridin' horrible.  Everything is slow and crashes often.

Looking at selling it and buying a Blackberry.  Loved my Curve 8320.

Someone with more recent BB use than I, what is a good BB nowadays?

Looking at BB because I like the keyboard.  Not digging my touch screen keypad lately.

:sigh:

I wonder how much gets you into Verizon's "top 5%". That's the tier they claim to be targeting.

I doubt you're even close.  I bet it's people that stream tv all day or something.

You have one of the most heavily developed phones. If you wanted to, you could load Android, WinPho 7, Windows98, or Linux on your HD2.

Yes, Yes, and Yes.  No Vzn 4G in KC yet though.  Sometime in 2011 I think?

I would wait for HTC to release a dual core phone. Its basically an Evo for Verizon. Which is cool, the Evo is a great phone, but it came out like 6 months ago.

An HD2 can run like any Mobile OS on the planet.

Probably nothing, but it will be able to do everything better. I wouldn't buy a 1ghz processor if i knew there was a 1.2 or 1.4 dual core on the way in the next few months. I would personally wait for CTIA in March.

I'm rolling with a busted up, cracked screen, piece of crap iPhone 3G.  I'm either going iPhone 4 or this Thunderbolt.  The t-bolt looks like a bad [redacted].

Honestly, and I'm not just saying this because I have one, you should go EVO on Sprint if you aren't going iphone4.  The iphone has a lot of advantages over the EVO but the thunderbolt has the exact same advantages/disadvantages as the EVO.  It's pretty much the same phone.  Plus, you get the 4G on sprint in KC right now and your bill will be lower.  If you are staying Verizon you should get the iphone4.

My app updates are pissing me off.  About half the time I update an app it fails and fucks up my phone.  I have discovered that if I un-mount the SD card and then update the app it works but it is an unholy pain in the ass to do this every time.  I've been waiting for gingerbread hoping it would fix this.   :dubious:

Had this happen to me a while back.  Fixed it by renaming (or deleting) the android_secure folder on the root of your SD card. After that, all my updates worked without problems.

come to my house and do this on my phone. tia.

seriously, walk me through exactly what to do here
