Summer is ending. It's about time for Apple to bend you over for a new phone. Good thing you got that $1600.

I'm excited to announce that after having a Google phone for 4 years, I'm finally becoming a Google fi customer starting tomorrow.
How has it been? I'm thinking about it.

Can't answer for mir but I've had fi for about 5 years now, love it, never looked back, very few issues and most were early on in early adoption. About the only issue I still have is it sometimes tried to hard to use wifi for calls at home and that can lead to poor quality but outside of that, super easy. Travel is the best with it, I've gone to Iceland, Germany, Austria, Dominican Republic, Canada, and Mexico and other than it taking a little time after landing for it to figure out where it is (like a minute) it works just like in the US. Virtually seamless travelling internationally.

I often spend $50 or less a month, only time it spikes is when travelling, so you gotta be mindful but it caps after like 6GB so you can't spend too much, but there will be throttle. I rarely use  that much data since 90% of my time is spent at home or at work, or WFH, so it can be cheap if you're on wifi a lot. For me the overall price is fairly cheap, quality is pretty good, and internationally it's so, so good.

Any other google-fi bros? How's it going? Specifically in KC? My phone is starting to wear out a bit and thinking of moving to them when I get a new one.

Woah, been a while since I opened this thread. I didn't make the switch. I wish I could remember what the decision-making process for me was at the time. Certainly now Fi is absolutely a non starter. We have 4 phones on our plan now and with unlimited data with Fi that starts at $180 a month. We were on Verizon when I posted that, we stayed with Verizon and have since switched to T-Mobile, did it last July. Our 4 phone T-Mobile unlimited plan is $120 and the data caps are much higher than they would be with Fi. Need those higher caps with three children spending lots of time traveling and on the road.

I haven't resumed international travel but I can't imagine doing anything different than what I've done for years and that's getting a sim card for about $10 at wherever I am and popping it in for when I don't have access to WiFi. European travel is even easier, just get an EE card and it's good everywhere, I've used the same card from Liverpool to Kiev.

I switched from t-mobile to fi and pay $120 (plus tax) for 4 lines. Its the simply unlimited plan and we get 22gb full speed before it gets throttled and only one kid comes close. I get coverage in way more places than T-Mobile (my parents' place in Kansas, for instance). Only downside is that particular plan is only for US, Canada and Mexico, but I could switch if I go to Europe (or pop in a new sim)

Basically it's fine.

Switched to Verizon after being with sprint since 2003. They gave me $1,600 for 3 lines and a watch which is absolutely wild.
We’re still just paying our monthly bill with this massive credit. Also service is way better than our T-Mobile service was. 5g is fast AF and I use it to hotspot for work a lot.

I'm really fascinated by the new flip and fold phones by Samsung.  I haven't been on an Android phone in so long and I love iOS. But I'm very tempted.

Need cell phone expertise please.

Situation:
- I nuked my 12 pro in Kauai salt water and had to get a 13 pro when we were out there. So I upgraded mine.
- 14 pro is out. I want that one. So I upgraded mrs. dave's line and that one just arrived.
- I want to get all my stuff onto that phone and all her stuff onto my 13 pro and have the numbers switched so the 14 is mine and 13 is hers.

What's the best route to do this? Verizon has a thing online where you can just swap numbers which seems easy enough? Do I go ahead and load my stuff from my phone onto the new one now? What is my order of operation here?

once you swap numbers, you should just sign in with apple id/icloud id and everything is golden right?

Same. Got it today and it’s a lot chonkier than my 12 Pro. One of the reviews I watched said the same case I had would fit this one… :curse:

The side power button is slightly lower on the side and so the cutout on my case doesn’t fit! Other than that it’s hot af

Upgraded to pro max from 11. First impression is this thing is a rough ridin' tank. Impossible to use laying in bed and holding it up. Positive is might mean less time wasted laying around playing on my phone.

Yeah it’s pretty chonky. I’ve had a popsocket the past few years and it’s the only way to go.

Swapped it out for the pro to better fit my tiny hands. All is well.

Underrated accessory: matte screen protector? No more annoying fingerprints, my phone is going to look new and not gross 24/7. Downside: slippery to type on but I’m used to it now I think.
