MANHATTAN, Kan. | U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is visiting Kansas State University to field questions during a forum.
Thursday afternoon's event is part of Kansas State's Landon Lecture series, although Sotomayor is not delivering a speech. She'll answer questions instead from two federal judges and the student body president.
Sotomayor was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama and has served since August 2009. She served previously as both a federal district and appellate court judge. She's also a former New York county prosecutor.
The lecture series is named for Kansas Gov. Alf Landon, the 1936 Republican nominee for president. Landon died in 1987.
