Yeah, but Hoke is solid.  San Diego State has been awful for a lot of years, and it's incomprehensible how they can manage to suck that bad in the Mountain West when you're A) playing in an NFL stadium and B) in the most awesome city in America outside of Las Vegas.

I would have loved Brady Hoke at Kansas State.

Absolutely, I believe it comes down to the recruiting "home base" that a school has and Tennessee and Michigan are actual a step below elite in that category. 

It does not help Michigan is cheap as hell with what they will pay coaches when the you consider their resources.
