Tired of it because you disagree, or tired of it because it's obvious?

Its way exaggerated by our fanbase just like it was way exaggerated when it was said about Clemente.

This isn't to say that it doesn't happen, b/c it does, but a lot of that is b/c Sprads is actually trying to play defense the way he's asked to play it, just like Clemente did.  He wouldn't consistently get minutes like he does otherwise; there is a reason that he's only had 2 games all year where he played less than 17 minutes and only 4 under 20 minutes.

I'm not sure the less aggressive isn't by design.

you're probably right.

LOL at the Sprads haters.

i've been getting very tired of the "he's slow; can't defend" stuff.  may attack those people soon.  oth, i'm also disappointed with his offense lately.  seemed to make better decisions and was more aggressive through the first 5 games or so than since.
i thik it's just a low experience vs more minutes thing.  the more time he's getting the more mistakes he makes.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Sprads isn't slow but he isn't fast.  He needs to play faster bringing the ball up the floor.  He started off well in this respect but I think the Duke game messed with him.  I'm of the opinion that Russell should be starting w/ Pullen in the back court.

I like Russell, but I've seen nothing to show me he needs more minutes at PG.

And Sprads does fine pushing the ball and is probably our 2nd best passer (behind Pullen) on the break.

disagree, and because it's stupid/based on stereotype rather than observation.

ex. - somehow when spradling gets beat it's 'cause he's slow while when russell gets beat it's because he doesn't practice intensely.

Gotcha.

However, I'm not convinced Russell isn't slow too. :dunno:

can I stick with the "all of our guards get beat off the ball way too much" talking point?  i don't discriminate.

don't care if Russell is playing PG or not when he's on the floor with Pullen

Fair enough.

My problem with Russell is that Frank seems to be doing everything possible to try to get him minutes and Russell seems to be doing everything possible to not earn them.

i think russell is prolly a touch slower than spradling.  but i don't think either is particularly slow (or a particularly bad defender; not good, but not consistently & notably bad).

more than anything, i don't think footspeed is terribly well correlated with defensive performance.  pullen didn't get any faster between his freshman to junior year.

I'm okay with all of that.

Also okay with this, which is why I was trying to redirect dax's backdoor cuts anger to where it belongs: on-ball defense.

He's kinda Chris Griffin'ish. Circa '97

Griff was a hero.  This Canadian guy has a long way to go.  I'm not even sure he's real.

remember when he was still a cougar and scored like 12 points against ucla or something. i mean, wow.
remember when he pinned a Jacque Vaughn layup in the Bram in '97 -  easily his KSU career highlight IMO

Would make an amazing gif.

Movie idea if this ever happens.  He slaps the floor, and all the opposing players immediately teeter and fall like his slapped shakes the court and knocks them down.  Then Sprads roars in triumph.

Would love this.

Yes.  Develops slow and comes way back and down.
