The dude is asking if Reed has to be enrolled during the one year period that he must sit out due to transer rules.  I am under the impression that you needed to be enrolled but not necessarily play.

Doesn't Omari have some rich family friend/KSU alum back on Connecticut that was rumored to be paying his 'tion once his spirit quest in Concordia is over?  :dunno:

Meat Sauce, do you know how many words end in "tion"?  I don't either, but it is probably too many to count, plus you can add it to about any word to make up a brand new word, so just spell out tuition! :curse:

Yes, this was what I was asking.  The 5 to play 4 rule is easy.  Was asking for clarification on transfers and the sit period.

I am under the impression that you needed to be enrolled but not necessarily play.

This is what I thought as well, but was hoping for confirmation.

I was told that by Sys, I believe.  Or maybe Underdog.  Either way, I am satisfied when one of those 2 says something.

Unless an exception is met, all transfer student-athletes must meet the "residence requirement" to be eligible to compete in intercollegiate basketball. The residence requirement stipulates that a student must be enrolled in and complete a minimum number of full-time credits for two semesters or three quarters, or at least enroll in and pass the minimum number of full-time credits for two semesters or three quarters. Summer terms do not count as semesters, but can contribute to the credit requirement.

So, Reed is basically not an option until Dec 2011 at this point.

If this guy is an early draft kid, why even re-enroll anywhere?  Gotta think the first round draft talk is overinflated if he is trying to get into another school at this point.

If he is able to get enrolled in some 8 wk online stuff, he may be able to pass the need hours for this semester and be eligible for next fall.  SD says grades are an issue here, which is weird because I haven't seen anywhere from SLU that grades were a problem there.  However, seems like he could still take some classes at Cloud this semester and either KSU or Cloud in the spring and meet the residency requirements.  :dunno:

Also, I think he is a fringe 1st round guy and those projections are assuming that he would have had another strong year at SLU.  I don't think Reed is one of those surefire lottery guys that is basically just killing time before the draft...

There are only 7 weeks left in the 2010 calendar year, some of which is spend off for holidays, and that is counting today.

Somehow, I don't see this working out.

Seems like it.   :ck:

Of course they seem to think he's already at KSU.   :ck: :ck:

True but the kid said he was planning on enrolling several weeks ago, right after the transfer news broke.  I don't know how online classes work and I don't know how juco classes work.  At the very least, it's a stretch to see him eligible for next fall.  But, if he was ready for next conference season, that would still be pretty cool.  (Provided he spends next fall practicing with the team.)

Hope I am wrong, but I am going to go ahead and assume we don't need to worry about numbers for Reed until there is obvious evidence to the contrary.

reed will proabably show up in 3 years after the team has already been practicing for a couple weeks.
