Can you buy lava rock anywhere? like a hardware store. Our "ACE" sells that kinda stuff.  I think they sell the wood too. How long do I soak the wood in water?

soak the wood for an hour.  ya they sell it all at ace.  i just figured walmart would be cheaper + perry works at walmart and we want to support our fellow goemaws.

uh - the manual says  not to do it on wood.

Well, got the grill as a back up.  Quickly learning the limitations of an electric smoker. (will have to use in an awkward place, can't use in rain/snow/any kind of moisture). 

I'll call it off for tonight, looks like we are in for rain the over the next 5-6 hours.
