Why we win this week
« on: November 09, 2010, 11:13:00 AM »
1.)  14-4
Snyder's record against the Pinkels. Only time the pink man has ever beaten Snyds was last year, after Prince tried and died 3 straight times. Snyds has a long history of out-coaching and frustrating Mizzie.

2.) 68-82
The number of rushing attempts/total yards by Gabbie. Our biggest problem in losses has been a mobile QB, and Gabbie doesn't fit the bill. Okie St is the exception and quite honestly Weeden is as good as Gabbie, and that loss goes in large part to our anemic offensive performance. Plus, their offense is pretty one-dimensional and shouldn't expose too much of our weak run D.

3.) 0-2
Mizzie's record over the last 2 games. They started strong (not unusual) but they can't finish. Plus, they've gone through the toughest part of their schedule and are tired. Pinkie's teams have a history of fading badly in the back half, and last week's loss against A&M Edit: the freedom jerseys is a bad sign for them.

Conclusion:
I'm going to take just a couple small sips from the purple pitcher and call 31-28

The more I think about the more I think we may stand a chance.  I expect Mizzou to have some long TD passes but I also expect them to stall out on several drives because the don't run the ball all that well.  I can see us throwing some gimmick plays in after they start loading the box. Harper gets a TD pass in this game.  We are outgained by a decent margin but pull out a close one.  (This board will spend next week downplaying this win.). 31-24 Purple Power Cats.

If we beat Missouri, it will prove we are a good football team.  I am becoming more convinced by our past performance against pro style qb's that we aren't going to get torched. They have a good defense and if we can move the ball with whatever qb starts saturday I will be really impressed.
