Yesterday on BITB . . .
« on: October 20, 2010, 12:14:22 PM »
and maybe somebody else heard all of this, because I only caught bits and pieces.

But BITB was saying that OB was essentially the DC for the KU game . . . at least in terms of the game plan.   BITB also implied that it will likely stay that way for the foreseeable future.

If so, I wonder what that means for the future of Chis "Bend and Break" Cosh.

Demotion to LB, maybe give him another title to make him feel better and we bring in a DOD retread. Thinking Levitt. By the way Mo retires this year as well

I suspect a) Snyder was much more involved in implementing the game plan behind the scenes for the week but b) Cosh made all the defensive calls and did most of the work on the field in practice leading up to the game.  Snyder is going to do what's necessary to help out, but he's not going to risk overriding his DC and what it could do long term for the team.  What it means long term, who knows.  Plus, its not like we installed some completely new defense, or were a ton more aggressive.  We simply made more plays, made much better run fits, and played a much more one dimensional offense (no QB run game).

I'll bet OB's only prayer at night when he goes to bed is that he wakes up in the morning with Cosh's resignation letter under his door....or that he's dead.

Are there any legs to the rumor that Jim Leavitt will be joining our coaching staff?

Snyds went off on him several times during the uk game.  Mostly about substitution problems I think.  Was funny to watch, because the play would be at like the opposite end of the field and Synds would be chewing his ass like 60 yards from the action

So now Cosh joins Dimel, Miller and Sean as guys we pay for being buds/relation with Snyder but for not doing anything? Whatever, as long as we win.

Unless all of the rumors/stories/anecdotes about Snyd's extreme micro-managing are false, I doubt his coordinators have much ultimate authority.  Seems like Snyder oversees everything very closely.  I loved watching him rip Mo's ass after that near call for too many men on the field.

BITB knows all and sees all. It's unamerican to think otherwise.

am I the only one that thinks we did a "better" job defensively because KU is just f'ing awful at playing football?  I mean, sure, Bill probably snuck into a few defensive meetings and suggested such things as tackling and aligning yourself properly regardless of the front, but at the end of the day, KU is just f'ing horrible.  Scheme all you want, but RGIII is a better athlete than most anyone we have on defense.  Regardless, though, Cosh is terrible.  And he's proven that at KSU before.

Not surprising considering the Super Bowl factor.

We could have treated it as a rough ridin' preseason game and still won by 20.

Actually . . . everything I've always heard over the years it's up to the defensive staff to make the game plan and call the game.
