I'm with CNSCasey and I have really bad s/n ratio. It gets significantly worse after a drink or two. It's pretty much pointless for me to try to have a conversation in a loud bar, assuming my first drink has been downed.

guys...i think i'm a loud talker. at least sometimes, mostly when drunk. i'd like to call upon meister, dlew, btk (kraigslist killer kat or whatever he is now), ron princes goatee, mslh, etc. to confirm or deny. i really have no idea whether i am or not, but i'd certainly like to know so i can get that crap under control.

you know what sucks though? just being bad at hearing and having to shout "WHAT?!" bars and stuff and turning your ear toward the person. ugh, so annoying and embarrassing.

I prefer loud talkers to low talkers and close talkers and especially low close talkers. At least with a loud talkers you can hear their loud faces before you see them and you can escape but you get trapped by the low close ones

i have this same problem. do you think it's because we listen to music with our headphones on too loud or something? maybe it's because you once worked in a factory. that's gotta be dangerous.
