The only people I know personally in the military are both solid Christians and very nice people.  Both are working towards their masters degrees.  Both have served 4 tours in Iraq/Afghanistan.  At least one of them was on one occasion shot down in a helicopter.

I would prefer that our military consist mainly of eff ups.  They have nothing else to fall back on except for prison.  The people that Dirty Sanchez lists sound like total pussies.  I know a couple of super nice guys who have seen active duty and the only thing that made me sleep at night is the fact they are both avid hunters and i feel pretty good about them being able to hit a target.
