Official Give Turner Time Thread
« on: September 24, 2010, 09:30:36 PM »
Guys, seriously, he's changing the culture.  He needs a min. of 5 years imo.  Get off his back.  Look at Rich Rod at Michigan....and Turner is at the toughest place to win the Big 12....by far.  He needs time and it's best that he gets it.  If we want KU to turn crap around immediately it's never happening.  Give the man the time needed and, in 5 to 9 years, if he hasn't gotten it done then start looking around.

Did you know he has one of the oldest starting lineups in the conference?  Those players are infected with Mangino's godless indiscretion.  This season shouldn't even count for Turner.  Start the 5 year trial NEXT season.

Maybe that is why he is starting such a upper-classman heavy team?  Just run them out there and get it over with?

TG needs time to get his guys in the system, not to mention he is having to recruit while the AD is in shambles. A MINIMUM of 6-9 years is needed to give TG an equal opportunity to what that godless abuser mangino had.

At least 5 years.  I can see small improvements already from the first game they've played to this last one.  Maybe not in wins and losses but I can tell the players are starting to buy into his system.  Can't imagine what it will be like in 5 years when he has his own players... :ohno:
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

It took Gill 3 years to win in that hellhole Buffalo.  The cesspool he's currently in is at LEAST 3 times worse than hellhole Buffalo.  Therefore, I would concur with steve dave.  The man needs a good 9 years before anyone can rationally expect signs of improvement.

I'm of the opinion that your first year is to recruit. Then those players need culture instilled. Then another year since they're still underclassmen. At that point you start the 5 year clock.
