Good, Cheap Generator???
« on: August 13, 2010, 02:01:35 PM »
So, I am lookin at buyin a generator for the upcoming tailgate season.  A cheap one that will power my junior traegor, possibly a crock-pot, and a tv.  Any suggestions???

Also, I hear that if you have dish-network it is only $10/mo for an extra dish?  Can anybody validate this???

You go to Sears and I think you can knock all those things out in one stop

Honda models are very quiet, which can be important if you are around others who may complain.  You really need to figure up just how much juice you'll need.  Another issue I'd think would be making sure you get good clean juice w/o any surge or overdrawing which would likely fry the electronics you are powering.  Onan brand for RV use would be worth considering, if you buy used it's usually better to get one that is used regularely rather than one thats been sitting for years.

The thing about generators is that the cheap ones are super loud.  Those Hondas are pricey, but nearly silent.

Now what you wanna do is go see Mike Jensen down at the local Ace hardware store, he will let you know exactly what you need. Very helpful and a huge K-Stater.
