So he's a double amputee, but he's allowed to run against normal people? Am I an bad person to think those super engineered springing titanium prosthetics may give him an advantage?

No, but if that were the case then he just isn't a very good athlete. Probably a better dancer than sprinter.

 (but with special tink-tink legs)

GMAFB, he got dead last in the semis. Guy didn't have an advantage in anything, he doesn't have rough ridin' legs.

Its a great story of triumph over tragedy. Good for him. Its sad that some people immediately were threatened by him and accused him of being a cheat.

Hope he gets on dancing with the stars, he's super cool.

He never has to worry about his calves cramping up.  Unfair advantage.  :blank:

He had a good point, he said if his legs were an unfair advantage you would see double amputees smoking people all the time.

Be concerned if people start cutting off their legs to get into the Olympics.

No, to have a fair point you would have to compare times of the same person with legs, then cut their legs off and test with these metal things.

let's table that experiment and just say that either they would be obviously advantageous or not at all.

but honestly, doesn't the paralympics have a race for amputees using these things? did he just not want to do that and try out the olympics, or am i wrong and they don't have an event its only wheelchair racing?

He won the paralympics by like, a lot. That's why he is in the Olympics.

interesting. so he beat other runners with basically the same build (ie double amputees using those type of prosthetic spring legs)?

It looks like the only double amputee is smoking all those loser single amputees.  Also, does the guy in the blue have two legs or what?  How'd he luck into that gig?
