I'm trying to figure out how the Good Cats ended up scoring 24 more points.  Dylan's return and that beautiful swoop-interception (TM) by Garber were both +7 plays, obviously, so that's a good start.  Arizona's cornucopia of penalties (and our disciplined play - i.e., lack of penalties) was big, as was the turnover advantage.  Credit to Avery for avoiding dangerous throws despite a few major overthrows, I guess.

The D was incredibly impressive in the 2nd half, obviously.  Seemed like our D line and LBs got pressure on Fifita despite rushing fewer guys.  I guess the lead effectively took away their ability to mix in the run and surprise us, but full credit to the D.

After we went up 21-7 early in Q3, you could see defeat in Arizona's eyes to the extent that I thought, "Wtf?  The lead is only 14, and they're giving up?"  They must have felt pretty outplayed/outclassed (aside from their ridiculous WR) in a way I couldn't fully appreciate as a casual FB fan.

The crowd seemed way more electric for this one than I expected too. Running an offense with that kind of noise would wear me out pretty fast.  Well done, crowd.

No. 20 Arizona outclassed by No. 14 Kansas State in 1st Big 12 test
Quote
Stylistically, the matchup was an Arizona squad going primarily through the air against a fearsome Kansas State rushing attack, and it wasn’t close which strength was, erm, stronger. Kansas State was +179 in rushing yards while Arizona was +112 in passing yards, thanks largely to the fourth quarter. Kansas State averaged 5.7 yards per carry.

Kansas State moved to 3-0 on the year thanks to a dominating performance on both sides of the ball against No. 20 Arizona.

The story of the night has to be K-State’s defensive performance. After a tough game against Tulane, many worried how this group could stop Arizona’s playmakers. The defense rose to the occasion, though, holding Arizona after that first touchdown to start the game.

Man we just absolutely whipped their asses

Just only being able to somewhat follow along or also seemed we could've done a lot better too. Which is good

Defense played damn near a perfect game and we scored a special teams TD but yea we shot our dicks off on offense a few times.

Yeah which sucks but like, makes me excited we haven't like hit our ceiling yet

It's a perfect fall Saturday when your team cruised to a top-20 victory behind your stud sophomore qb and you can watch the other pretenders (I'm looking at you Missouri) struggle for their lives.

We might have shut them out if the fumble on their first drive hadn't been called a non-fumble.

Also...good stuff, Pete.
