Tater first day to the farm this spring.   We had to growl at the geese, and act all tough with the cows.  He feels it after a full day running the acreage on short legs.

My stupid dog that my wife and daughters love more than anything jumped out the window of my wifes car on sunday while they were driving.

ER Vet said probably tore up her knee

She's about 50 pounds of Mutt, anyone have experiences with surgury vs letting it go?

They did Taters ACL.  If the dog is older and not in pain vs a young, active dog was kind of how they presented our options.

Ours is young and very active.  before the injury she ran with my wife multiple days a week.  Not hunting active, not really around other dogs either.

kstate quoted 4k for the procedure which I was hoping would be cheaper.
Seems to be going rate.  Taters ACL was $4k, and I didn't even get a KState DVM.

FWIW, he has recovered nicely.  Prior, he limped around and favored the injured leg.  He even puts all his weight on the repaired leg to pee.

My dog injured an ACL over a year ago in the fall.

She is 65 lb mutt that's built like a small lab kind of.

My BIL has hunting Labs and he told me that when his tear something, they just become house pets.  He quit trying to fix them because when one is fixed they often tear the other one.

My dog has made a pretty great recovery.  She'll even run, play etc, we just have to make sure she's not zig zagging, had to get more rugs for wood floors etc.  It chilled her out quite a bit, she never jumps, gets up on hind legs any more but other than that is happy as a lark.
Thanks, Cire. How old is your dog?
