Just found out my 2 year old daughter has a tree but allergy, including a severe allergy to cashews. Now we have to carry around a steroid and two Epi Pens at all times.
That's buts... At least she doesn't have that in conjunction with a peanut allergy
Yeah, that would be bad. She had a pretty bad reaction to cashews the 4th time she ate them and was fine the first 3. The doctor said that rapid rate of increasing severity could mean the next time is still much worse. However, peanuts would be more worrisome because of their popularity and that they leave so much dust and inner skin around. I feel like with cashews there aren't as many around and they're cleaner. She'd have to eat them and not just have leftover dust getting on other food.
The Epi Pen thing just freaks me out because the doctor was pretty serious about always having them with us because of the high severity risk of the next reaction.
