A bar owner in Brasstown NC could not hold his 20th annual possum drop on new years. In the past he put a live possum in a box and let it down slowly to the ground on Dec. 31st, and then let it go into the woods. Thousands attended. PETA sued contenting possums are shy and timid animals, and the hubbub is torturing thier little minds and pysche - the possum could die from heart failure. PETA got an injunction stopping the use of a live possum. So they lowered a steaming pot of possum stew instead. Poor dead possum thank PETA:
