roidhead's top ten giftmas songs
« on: December 08, 2014, 06:28:48 PM »
This list is a kind of all over the place, but it's composed of my ten favorite songs related to everyone's favorite commercial holiday that's based upon a completely fictional event. I hope you enjoy them. What are some of yours?

10. Afroman- Violent Night

9. Eazy E- Merry Muthafuckin’ Xmas

8. B.B. King- Back Door Santa

7. The Pogues- Fairytale of New York

6. Willie Nelson- Pretty Paper

5. Merle Haggard- If We Make it Through December

4. The Flaming Lips- Christmas at the Zoo

3. Hayes Carll- Grateful for Christmas

2. Robert Earl Keen- Merry Christmas from the Family & Happy Holidays Y’all (Technically two songs, Happy Holidays Y'all being the sequel, but eff it, it's my list)

1. Tchaikovsky- The Nutcracker Suite

Do you refute the fact that Jesus was born, or do you quibble with the timing of the celebration?

I don't know that Jesus didn't exist, but the gospel is as historically accurate (historically accurate probably isn't the term I'm looking for, true to real life?) as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. What's your favorite giftmas song, spracs?

Well, I call it Christmas because I am an American and I honor the traditions of my ancestors, but aside from all the standbys (big Bing guy, here), I like a little

I'm enjoying that song. Interesting enough, Bing, 'NSync, Mariah, The Killers and King George just missed the list.

King George?

Personal fave.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
