fwiw I've never heard of the tv show Remington Steele
Among other things, it was Pierce Brosnan's big break.
Actually mumped him out of being Bond earlier than it happen. NBC had like some first right clause or some crap so when they offered him Bond (the Timothy Dalton ones) NBC had a chance to match the $$ they did so he got paid at least. But he did have to wait awhile to finally get to play Bond.*
Disclaimer* I'm a huge Bond geek and know a lot about the Bond movies.
They picked him and then cut him after RS was renewed for one last season (it had been cancelled). Pierce was contractually obligated to finish RS, but he still could have played JB. They (Bond producers) didn't want a JB that was simultaneously associated with a TV show. Served you up something fierce and I don't give two shits about JB.
Hey everybody, Gooch thinks NBC had prima nocta on PB!
