I would consider DLew a conservative.
on some issues i'm conservative.  a lot of issues I don't really care about or have much of an opinion either way.

A gun wasn't used?

I would bet there's a good chance not everything was on the up and up, either the gun was purchased illegally or possessed illegally.  Obviously it was used illegally.

Do you think gun laws might have an impact on the quantity and types of guns available for illegal purchase?

I would wager that, regardless of the law, people would be able to source just about anything.  The price might change I suppose.  It'd be like drugs I guess.

I agree, drugs should be decriminalized and we should all have the right to bear them.

Ok, this is one instance and anecdotal...

...but I would wager that the cop was shot with a semi-automatic pistol, likely a 9mm.

What sensible gun law would have prevented this thug from possessing this gun?

(I haven't paid attention, maybe they released more details like type of firearm, name/criminal status of suspect, etc??  Please post if they have.)

Can we please get back on subject.....

Drugs should be decriminalized.  It is possible that this shooting would have never taken place if drugs were legal.

I mean, I don't know what caused the pre-cop altercation, but think of all the shady drug deals that would be avoided if legal.

I mean, there are tons of laws that could have prevented this person from owning a gun. Definitely not something passed the day before or only in KCK.

The larger point is that blaming Black Lives Matter for this shooting is absurd.

Blaming "gun laws" for this murder is equally absurd as blaming blm, unless of course the murderer is a blm stooge, in which case blaming "gun laws" is far more absurd.

Other more absurd things to blame:
White privilege
Systemic racism

no, it's more absurd to blame BLM over gun laws. You see any of these cops getting stabbed?

Just to be clear, you saying no cop has ever been stabbed and "gun laws" could be crafted in such a way as to make guns vanish from the face of the earth?  But, on the other hand, the emergence of a violent anti-cop hate group could play no part in the murder of a cop sitting in his car?

Sounds absurd.

That's, like, not even worthy of being called a straw man. More like a hay bale or tumbleweed or something.

Yes, reference to cops getting stabbed was probably a strawman. We'll have to wait for clarification.

They have two thugs in custody and aren't searching for any more.  Both have clean records over the last couple years (juvie records are sealed).

Juvenile records should be used during BG checks.  If they aren't , that is rough ridin' stupid.
