KState pwns UT's losery Draft streak
« on: May 13, 2014, 09:46:02 AM »
Quote from: Jake Trotter
"Kansas State wasted no time pointing out it now has the Big 12's longest active NFL draft streak.

Over the weekend, Texas failed to have a player get drafted, the first time that had happened since 1937. The Longhorns previously had the longest active draft streak in the country, along with Notre Dame. "

Why do people think Mueller doesn't have a shot at getting drafted? And why are people so sure Lockett does?

Mueller's size (like Michael Sam) will cost him in the draft.

Lockett is small, but he'll get drafted. He's too talented not to get a shot, though injury problems could hurt him (like Zim).

Lockett will be drafted as a KR, probably by the Chargers. Tradition.

Guys who run 4.4 40s get drafted.

15 - finney, lockett
16 - whitehair, britz, stiverson?
17 - willis??
18 - warmack??

Based purely on hype... I'd include guys like Clink and Derricott in '16 too.

Maybe Prewett for 18 too, I think he'll be a stud.

found this on /r/cfb. 23 draft picks over a 4 year stretch is hyper elite. that staff could really recruit.

Year    Texas   Kansas State
2014    0       1
2013    3       3
2012    3       1
2011    4       1
2010    6       1
2009    4       1
2008    5       2
2007    7       3
2006    6       1
2005    3       1
2004    4       2
2003    4       4
2002    2       6
2001    3       6
2000    1       5
1999    3       6
Total   58      44

Dante Barnett is small but he is a rough ridin' stud. Randall Evans isn't even that small and we are d-back U

You're probably underselling Lockett here. Based on physical gifts/skills alone, he's a first-round talent. The only thing you can ding him on is weight/frame, but the dude from Colorado (6-0, 175) went No. 45 overall and he had a worse injury history, worse ball skills, worse everything pretty much.

But I guess you never know what teams will do.

He is a lock for being drafted because he is a Gronk right?

Lockett will probably be a 2nd-4th round pick. His concern is his durability.

However, if Branden Cooks gets drafted in round 1, there is certainly a chance Lockett could too.

I'll say it...

That 2012 should have a heavily bolded asterisk next to it. BB was loosely associated with our Cats, man.  :dunno:

When they showed him on NFL broadcasts they always said "the rookie from K-State" so. . .it counts.
