someone is going to get their 4th or 9th title monday night, just a wealth of riches.
Doesn't matter who wins .... Duke UNC UK and UConn will have accounted for 14 of the past 24 national titles. Just impressive
this got me thinking while I was bored this AM, and I wasn't exactly sure where to put this. Although they were low seeds, that was a National Championship matching the #2 and #3 programs of all time, this is how I do the math. It's simple, AD's are judged on #titletowns, individual programs are judged on nattys, and most importantly, most recent nattys. I count the ones within the last 25 years as double the importance, and this is how the top 10 programs iron out.
1st:
UCLA: 11 + 1 (1995) =
122nd:
Kentucky: 8 + 3 (1996, 1998, 2012) =
113rd:
UCONN: 4 + 4 (1999, 2004, 2011, 2014) =
8 Duke: 4 + 4 (1991, 1991, 2001, 2010) =
8 North Carolina: 5 + 3 (1993, 2005, 2009) =
86th:
Indiana: 5 + 0 =
57th:
Florida: 2 + 2 (2006, 2007) =
4 Louisville: 3 + 1 (2013) =
4 Kansas: 3 + 1 (2008) =
410th:
Michigan State: 2 + 1 (2000) =
3what a historic match up that was.
