Dear Coach Self:
« on: March 23, 2014, 02:37:31 PM »
When you arrived at ku, there were actually ku fans who were openly questioning that you could get it done.   Particularly since you have a propensity to lose games that in their eyes you and your team should not lose.

You put that minority but very vocal contingent in their place by winning numerous conference championships and a national championship.

Now, there are once again ku fans openly questioning your coaching abilities.

Why put up with that coach?   Get on the phone to your many connections and openly lobby for Marquette to make an astounding offer to oscar Weber.   With oscar out of the way, your friends on gEmaw will put you in touch with our very own Animal and weird but strangely effective athletic director.   Heck, we'll even fire our weird AD and bring in someone you and the other Bill at K-State can treat like your very own piss boy.

Again, you don't deserve this open questioning coach.   Come to EMAW and we will love, love, love you, and we'll deny we even know who you are when you're out trolling Aggieville.

Think about it.

Warmest Regards:

gEMAW

P.S.  We'll throw in a pair of cowboy boots.

Guys, self seems to slyly always leave an opening for the NBA when he does interviews and stuff.  What if a while back he set some arbitrary goal that he had to meet before he would let himself jump to the NBA?  Like, maybe winning a nice round 10 of a certain something?

If Poppovich retires and Bill stays at KU, I imagine he'll retire there.

I would be surprised if Bill never takes a shot at the NBA.

I think it will take a good NBA job that is ready to win to get him to go in the next few years (his son is freshman).  Scott Brooks is in season 2 of a 4 year deal and I think it will take a job of that caliber to get him to leave in the next few years.  After his son is done, I could see him finding a good fit with a rebuilding team like Brad Stevens and the Celtics.

I wouldn't blame him.  It's gotta be tough to tiptoe around all the BS rules the NCAA puts up to "protect student athletes" while at the same time catering to a bunch of spoiled prime madonnas.   :bang:
