So this is a selfish bump.  I recently started wet shaving and am looking for some advice and maybe to help spread the word to others that are interested.  I've always had issues shaving because I get really bad razor burn almost every time I shave.  This caused me to look for an alternative to cartridge shaving.   First off, this is the started kit I purchased.

I went with a Van Der Hagen shave set.  It is an inexpensive starter kit available pretty much nation wide.  It is currently being sold at both Target & Dillions in MHK.  I'm not sure if anyone else in town carries it or not.  The kit includes the mug, soap, stand, and brush.  I know That Target also offers the DE safety razor made by Van Der Hagen.  I choose to buy one online from Amazon made by a company named Lord.

I actually find now that I enjoy shaving.  I've made it part of my daily routine and use it as a bit of alone time.  Here is a quick lather I built this evening.  I worked on it a bit more after taking these pictures to get it correct.

The entire process takes about 20 minutes for me, but is worth the effort. Now when I finish shaving I have the closest shave I've ever felt, and no razor burn.

I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might have, and would really enjoy some advice from anyone who is experienced in wet shaving.
