Anyone know the rules around bobcat taxidermy?

Let's say I'm walking the fields of NE Kansas with my trusty .22 and a bobcat jumps at me to rip my head off, but luckily I shoot him in mid air to save my own life. Can I get him stuffed and put him over my mantle legally? ..asking for a friend

your friend would be in season so long as he was not running it.
