Favorite Bollywood Actress
« on: September 27, 2013, 09:57:20 AM »
As most of you know, this is also a HUGE (really big) Bollywood board (probably even bigger than poetry in SOME circles).

At clams house the other night we basically shut off the Texas game and argued for like an hour about who the most talented, gorgeous, and entertaining female Bollywood star really is.  I'm a Karisma Kapoor man, obviously.  She was born to Punjabi-speaking Randhir and his Sindhi-speaking wife, Babita, who is the daughter of actor Hari Shivdasani, and cousin to Sadhana. Karisma is the third Kapoor female to appear on the silver screen in India. The first being her aunt, Sanjana Kapoor, daughter of actor Shashi Kapoor, followed by her sister, Kareena Kapoor.  Kareena is wildly popular in the "main stream," but if you ask me is a rough ridin' phony bitch (I'm just saying).

Anyway, who do you guys like?

i didn't want to talk about it then and i don't want to talk about it now.  pete, you constantly do this- you bring outside conversations we had in real life during a PAK to the board and disrespect the privacy of our friendship.

i'm done with it.  never call me again you will never ever be invited to a KC area PAK.  you have been PAKlisted.

This was the only way a debate about Bollywood actresses would in.  Passions run too deep.  You should know better Pete

i'd be pretty upset too if some one outed me as a dummy who thought some one other than Karisma Kapoor was number 1 Bollywood actress.

ya bud, i'm really pissed.  never even heard of karisma kapoor but i can tell you she is garbage just by knowing she's a kapoor.  everyone in india makes fun of the entire kapoor family.  don't be a complete dumbass, i know more about india than the rest of this webpage combined.

kapoor is what i like to refer to as low hanging fruit.  now.  if i were to rate posters as different fruits, your ass would definitely be a durian and i would be a raspberry or blueberry (both on same top level).

I thought a body of work was relevant.

Look, I already said that I thought Kareena Kapoor was a phony, but you can't argue with the numbers.  This article hit the Indian internets 5 hours ago.

Quote
Screen Survey 2013: Kareena Kapoor Khan is the reigning princess

.....So what contributes to Kareena's brand value? Understandably it is her illustrious lineage, her natural acting skills and her impressive body of work, which includes playing a variety of characters in different genres —from romantic comedies (Jab We Met) to historical dramas (Asoka) to action thrillers (Agent Vinod) to comedy (Golmaal 3).

Golmaal 3 was just a poor attempt by Bollywood to cash in on the success of Golmaal 1 & 2.  Those hacks will keep doing the same thing until they get it wrong.
