He's a great player.  But there was a weird two weeks in February when despite a couple lackluster games, he became the consensus POY choice over T-Rob.  The narrative was "he changes the game" to explain why he should win, despite inferior stats.

I don't disagree he was the right choice, but it was weird that the entire media began thinking this so suddenly in February, despite it being true for far longer.

It's similar to dorky K-State fans' obsession with Manziel. To any unbiased observer, Manziel and Davis were quite obviously the better player. But as fans, we are not unbiased. We are more often butthurt.
