I am amazed at the effort these students put into Marching Band.  Prior to my freshman son making drumline this year I had no appreciation for it.  I do now.

I texted him this morning asking how band was going.  He said "Fine.  No time to talk this is so fast-paced."

From Tuesday to this Saturday, the band will put in 13 hour days with 9.5 to 10 hours a day in actual rehearsal.  Various groups, including the KSU Alumni Assn, have provided refreshments and bbq.

This evening they have dinner with John Currie, Saturday evening a concert in front of Varneys in Aggieville and Sunday night after 3.5 hours of practice they have dinner at BSFS.  Do you think Coach Snyder might make an appearance???  I don't know.

Monday is off (first day of classes) and then rehearsals 2 hours per day beginning on Tuesday.

What a week for this kid.  In addition to his first college classes, he starts Army ROTC with PT beginning at 6 AM 3 days a week, band practices and winding up the week playing in front of a televised game, likely raucous, sold out crowd in newly renovated stadium.

My first week of college likely consisted largely of Schlitz at Brothers and Coors at Mr. K's. (If I could actually remember it.)

Go Cats!!

studs.  both of them.
