What kind of animal puts hot pans and dishes directly on a countertop all willy nilly?
The same kind that uses the counter top as a cutting board. Unless the counter top is butcher block, in that case it's ok.
We have a cutting board built into our counter top. Pretty sweet. It is however, in the middle of a non-sweet laminate counter. Soon, it will be replaced with quartz tho.
