Kentucky was my favorite basketball team. I was raised by an alum. Became a full time KSU cat when huggs came through. So KSU is number 1 always. Kentucky number two always.

Completely lost my Illinois enchantment. They appear to have followed up with the right decision to can oscar with a really bonehead hire. Loser school; I wash my hands of them.

So I'm kind of adrift.

 good run. Pitino is like way better than our coach. Yes, I know his players are better too.  :bawl:

Sad to admit, but so very true.

Looking at the coaches and the style of play for all elite 8 teams its pretty obvious that oscar isn't the type of coach to win anything significant.

Rick Pitino
John Calapari
Jim Calhoun
Coach K
Roy Williams
Bill Self
Jim Boheim
Gary Williams
Tom Izzo
Tubby Smith
Lute Olson
Jim Harrick
Nolan Richardson
Dean Smith
Tark
Steve Fisher
Larry Brown
Bob Knight
Denny Crum
Rollie Masimino
John Thompson
Jimmy V

That is the list of the coaches to win the title in the last 30 years. Not trying to pile on but how would oscar fit on this list? Admittedly Beilein would be an outlier too, but oscar :dunno:

also only 2 out of the last 11 seasons have seen a school win its first title

this depressing crap has been on my mind all damn week

That doesn't seem that low. Also your list of national title coaches is skewed...as they have all won national titles. I mean, oscar won't get us there, but that doesn't mean it's impossible for someone else.

Dieng is one of the best players in the the NCAA and they didn't even really use him (on offense) to win the NC!
