Charitable giving with respect to tax deductions
« on: February 04, 2013, 10:42:20 AM »
You ever talk to someone and ask for money and they say "oh no thank you, all our charitable giving goes to one place, XXXXXXXXXXXXXX."  I figured out why they do that.  So they don't have to sift through their emails for a dozen rough ridin' receipts.  If JC wasn't such a dick we'd probably just give it all to the Qatz.  Next year we'll just do the Leukemia and Lymphoma one and kids will have to starve in third world countries.

No, they tell you that because they don't want to feel judged for being uncharitable. Kind of like telling the girl scouts "no thanks, I already bought cookies from my boss's kid at work."

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I always tell them "No, thanks. Maybe next year."

Yes, it's awful, just like most of the crap that kids try to sell you.

The Girl Scouts have some deal where you can pay for cookies and donate them to soldiers, and that is deductible but just buying them isn't.

Exactly.

It tasted like they let it get nice and stale, dipped it in lemon juice and chocolate, then left it out in a warehouse with a bunch of diesel exhaust issues.

Will not do again.

I am at the point where I just donate rather than buy.  Here is $20, I don't want your shitty popcorn, cookies, cookie dough, etc.
