there really is no reason or excuse to go to a chain restaurant.

I don't see any difference in convenience, and price sort of depends on which chain restaurant vs which local restaurant you are talking about. "Reliability of product and preparation" is a negative. I don't want the exact same meal prepared the exact same way everywhere I go.
Pretty much every fast food and fast dining chain has an app (with deals and rewards) that lets you order ahead, plus you already know the menu, so I’m not sure how you could call convenience a toss up.
And trying something new is great as long as your goal isn’t feeding a small family very quickly with food you know they’ll enjoy.
I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind. Just helping them understand why like a super massive industry exists.
