I remember being so depressed when Tad Boyle's name was being floated. Now I would welcome him with a "Boyleville" sign

yeah, his backhanded compliments and false praise of the fan base would be music to my ears right now

I don't know how you can want the team to win yet want oscar to fail and get fired.

i want weber to lose, but not during the games.  during the games i want art to win.

i'd have been happy with boyle (at least to start with).  i'd have been ok with underwood, but not happy.  but i think i'd have started to get happy really quickly.

That's why I couldn't watch any more.  I never rooted for losses.  I just had to turn my back on it until it was over.  I didn't reach that point until last season.  We had just hired a new AD and I knew that if oscar didn't win he'd be out.  Once we started losing in earnest I walked away and waited for the coaching search.  Before that it simply wasn't an option so I persevered.  The old AD was going to keep Weber around as long as he was there.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

So its official. John Tucker Currie must Die Go. So what big schools are opening up? Any chances we could create an account on the Ladders or something and get him hired somewhere else.

I'll just cosign everything Mr Bread said. Last year was very hard for me and many die-hard Illini fans. I literally stopped watching and I literally didn't even know when they were playing. Didn't care. Too painful to care. And I have been a huge UI BB fan since the late 80s. For me to not even know when the Illini were scheduled to play is absurd.

If you aren't already, many KSU fans will be actively rooting for losses.

It's a sick way to go about being a fan, but you eventually come to the realization it's what's necessary to move the program forward.

Illini fans sympathize with you guys. Reading this board is like entering a time machine back to last season and reading Illinois boards. Some posts are almost word-for-word describing their disgust.

I want to use this opportunity to beg forgiveness from Sys for not being in the burn it down camp from the get go.  I thought we should give the guy time to see if he had learned anything from his Illinois failure  and could salvage the Currie hiring fiasco.  What a dolt I was and what a crap coach Weber is.

I remember briefly the morning Weber was hired there was a brief rumor that it was going to be Alford. Almost forgot about that.

I wanted Underwood for 1 or 2 years as a "Calm the waters/Keep players from bailing on us" type of coach with Gottlieb as HCIW.

If you are calming waters on a temp basis only, it can only be for a oscar Pearl type.

The best part about the Alford rumor was that it was nothing but a hopeful reaction Weber getting leaked 30 minutes earlier.  That's how bad the Weber hire was, that when it first leaked someone made up "It's Alford" and our fans were so hopeful that "It's Alford" stuck as realistic for 30 minutes because it would have been so much better than Weber it had to be true.  No way we could probably have Alford and took oscar.  Even our hopeful wish candidate was so bad it elicited the responses in that thread.

I remember being with other EMAWs, hearing "It's Weber", thinking no rough ridin' way, then being releaved the rumor got it wrong and it was Alford.

The moment Weber was announced as coach there was a collective chortle from WSU fans in Wichita.  Now it's full blown guffaws

Could not be happier than if Ashton Kutcher jumped out right before the OSU game and told us all we were being Punk'd and that we should all watch the new season of the show and that it will be great due to the time off, even though we would all know that the new show wouldn't be great.
